Online seminar: The End of Glory Days goes Sustainable with DAN (Divers Alert Network)

“We have already travelled 7.000 km and covered six different countries. This represents about one third of our planned trip & goals. In order to step forward and do our part, the Sustainable Tour project was born. A DAN Europe initiative to promote ocean conservation focused on how we all can protect the oceans from land.” Alana Alvarez and Manuel Bustelo, DAN Ambassadors

Even studying the past cannot be handled “business as usual” with the latest news of Climate Change. The research project The End of Glory Days, Biography of the Swedish wrecks as “Blue” Heritage of Suomenlinna joins forces with DAN Sustainable Tour to talk more about the subject at the old Sea Fortress Suomenlinna, UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The End of Glory Days focuses on underwater Suomenlinna, as a part of a bigger Swedish research program The Lost Navy. Maritime archaeologists use modern research methods when studying the secrets of the seabed by diving, co-operating with marine biologists and recreational divers. Our common goal is to raise awareness of the Blue Mind, the relationship we all have with water.
