Customer service
The Library, Archives and Archaeological Collections division is responsible for archaeological artefact collections and the customer service related to their use. It decides on any exhibition loans and the permits related to the use of collections as well as receives and redeems antiquities.
The collections are primarily used for research purposes and exhibitions, and as background information when evaluating issues related to the protection of stationary relics. Some of the key findings of the collections are on display in the National Museum’s exhibitions and artefacts are also loaned to other museums. Archaeological collections are part of our national heritage and therefore on display also in other connections than in actual exhibitions, when possible.
