Pressfoto (PF) was one of two large Finnish news photograph offices that supplied newspapers with Finnish and foreign photographs in the late 1900s. PF’s customers included newspapers such as Aamulehti, Turun Sanomat and Uusi Suomi. PF took photographs daily of the most important news events for its contractual customers. The archive includes Pressfoto’s photographs from 1974 to 1996 and A4 Media Oy’s photographs from 1997 to 2002: 3 million photographs. An estimated one third of the photographs were produced by the company itself. Pressfoto’s sports photographs (0.5 million) can be found at the Sports Museum of Finland.
